Meet the 4Ever team...
Welcome to 4ever in Electric Dreams which is the virtual HQ and home to our burgeoning podcast network spearheaded by our flagship series, Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind (C.E.N.K.).
Emanating from London, UK, and hosted by Dan Collacott, Tee-J Sutherland and Imran Mirza, this site is designed to help us celebrate the things we loved growing up and the things that continue to excite and inspire us today. By covering a range of media including film, TV, comics, books and music, early episodes see us delve into the realms of Ghostbusters, Tron 2, pro-wrestling, the Transformers Movie from 1986 and Richard Grieko's 'Teen Agent' (Remember that? Oh, you don't?).
With C.E.N.K. episodes due on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, and episodes of our Minicast and 90s State of Mind podcasts, there's lots of reasons to visit us again and again, and to join us in our ongoing celebration of the things we can't leave behind.
IMRAN MIRZA
I've always had an innate desire to share the things that I love with people and for them to appreciate the same things that I do. I have so many cherished childhood memories of watching 'A New Hope' over and over on VHS, seeing 'Back to the Future' in the cinema and attempting, very badly, to take up skateboarding, hearing 'Purple Rain' for the first time while visiting family in Canada...
I suppose my love for those memories and the chance to experience new ones has never really waned so podcasting with friends and talking about these very things seems like the logical way forward. Whilst there's lots of topics I'm keen to jump into with the guys, my first love would really be music - a passion I'm incredibly fortunate to be able to indulge in through the contemporary soul/jazz/funk radio station, Blue-in-Green:RADIO and its accompanying podcast, the Blue-in-Green:PODCAST.
DAN COLLACOTT
Growing up in the golden era of movies and TV in the 80s and 90s meant I was a kid watching as sci-fi and horror franchises were born, obsessing about everything from Terminator, Robocop, Aliens, Gremlins, Terrahawks, Star Wars, Star Trek, Quantum Leap, Battlestar Galactica, to Back to the Future, Ghost Busters and Jurassic Park. Not to mention the countless awful B-movies I would rent from my local video store starring action stalwarts such as Rutger Hauer, Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan and Van Damme. Bands like NIN, Faith No More, Fear Factory, Deftones, Depeche Mode, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains formed the guitar backing track to both my teenage and adult years. Whilst Wu Tang Clan, ATCQ, Beastie Boys, De La Soul, Mobb Deep, Lords of the Underground, NWA provided the beats.
As a kid I watched films like Nightmare on Elm Street, Critters, Amityville, The Exorcist and many more without really knowing how much those films would shape the enormous passion for horror I hold dear now. I love to talk about all the above (endlessly) and to keep myself sane I write scripts and audio dramas that I hope to one day share with you all.
TEEJ SUTHERLAND
I’m a 40...er...something year old south London boy whose older brothers are to blame for my enthusiasm for all things sci-fi and comic related. From 2000AD in the early-eighties with characters like Judge Dredd, Nemesis the Warlock, Strontium Dogg and Halo Jones through to Marvel comics such as X-Men, Iron Man, The Hulk (and a few other publishers in between!). I've built up a collection of approximately 4000+ comics (the struggle for storage space is real - trust me!). This then carried over further into my love of Anime like Akira and Ghost in the Shell. Sci-fi TV shows such as Blakes 7, Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek; cartoons like Battle of the Planets, Ulysses and Dungeons & Dragons; books such as The Fighting Fantasy series by Ian Livingston and Steve Jackson, His Dark Materials and Lord of the Rings... ok you get the idea!
I also have a rekindled love for professional wrestling so on occasion I'll be leading a podcast or two talking about all things WWE, AEW or anything else that catches my eye in that world, consider yourself warned!
